Angle cock is a control valve for air connection and cut-off between locomotive and locomotive, between locomotive and vehicle, between vehicle and vehicle. After lifting the handle, it can rotate 90° to close the air brake device of vehicle and empty the pressure air in hose connector.


The train is braked by compressed air. The compressed air is provided by the air compressor of the locomotive, and the compressed air is delivered to each vehicle through the main air hose. Each vehicle has a switch for the main air hose, it is called "ANGLE COCK". Only when the angle plug is opened, the compressed air can be delivered to this vehicle, and then to the last vehicle in turn, to ensure the smooth flow of the main air hose.


The angle cock is divided into type L (left) and type R (right) . Type L angle cock is installed on the left side of the coupler, and type R angle cock is installed on the right side of the coupler.
